This year's summer vacation we wanted to spend a little differently. We decided to paradise in the middle of the Atlantic - Madeira. Because Madeira is a small island, but no less interesting market basket and varied, we have extended the holidays in Lisbon and its surroundings. About Madeira I read a lot of nice, but we did not know anyone who would really ever there. And we went to check - can you describe themselves with superlatives and a few words - botanical garden in the middle of the ocean with stunning views of the cliffs on the coast.
Vacations we've been together 11 days, 6 of unforgettable days in Madeira. We flew from Zagreb to Lisbon and on to Madeira. Let lasts approx. 3 hours to Lisbon and then an hour and a half to Madeira. The airport is 20 km away from Funchal, where we had reserved hotel. We flew around two in the morning, hired a taxi and began the tale. At night, we had not really seen much because the taxi driver drove over 100 km / h, across the winding tunnels with an open window. The city is beautiful, clean and very tidy, all the streets paved with patterns, people are very friendly. Funchal is arranged like Monaco - a city adorned with beautiful flowers, which we know from our living rooms, in detail manicured lawns and gardens, avenues, fountains. Everything is like "in the box". We were most impressed with the air conditioning - a pleasant 22 degrees and light winds. Throughout the day you can be in short sleeves and shorts, market basket but they never hot. So you can walk all day without heat and explore the inconvenience. The town has a lot of tourists because of Madeira living from tourism. Every year 1.2 million tourists visited and most of them settled in Funchal.
